The Summer Workshop “The Mud Hut” is based on demonstrating the construction of a small house using natural materials that we find abundantly around us.

In the workshop, we discover and apply ancient techniques in woodworking and earth processing for ecological constructions. We learn how to erect walls from clay on a woven hazel structure and to create green roofs, combining tradition with innovation in a captivating and inspirational experience. All the necessary steps for building the hut will be addressed in stages during the workshop series, so that each participant (regardless of the series they participate in) will be able to go through the ecological and traditional construction methods from “A to Z.”

The Mud Hut integrates acacia wood for its structure, the walls are formed from hazelnut branches with plaster made of clay, sand, and straw, while the ‘single-sloped’ roof is made of earth.

What will you do

Sizing, peeling, charring, waterproofing, and anti-fungal protection through fire burning.

They have the role of supporting the weight of the earth plaster.

We mix clay, sand, wheat straw and apply it on the wall.

Building a sod roof / green roof (theoretical and practical course)

  • Micul dejun, din produse locale, aduce savoare cu fiecare muscătură. Arome proaspete, ingrediente de înaltă calitate, gătite cu grijă pentru o experiență culinară autentică și hrănitoare.

  • În atelier, descoperim și aplicăm tehnici străvechi în prelucrarea lemnului și a pământului pentru construcțiile ecologice. Învățăm să ridicăm pereți din lut pe structură împletită de alun și să creăm acoperișuri verzi, îmbinând tradiția cu inovația într-o experiență captivantă și inspirațională.

  • La prânz, ne delectăm cu un festin tradițional: ciorbe pline de arome, sarmale îmbietoare (cu carne sau vegetariene), tocanițe gustoase, oferind o experiență autentică a gastronomiei rurale.

  • După prânz, ne oferim două ore de siesta, încântându-ne de odihnă și liniște pentru a reîncărca bateriile. Această pauză revitalizantă ne pregătește pentru partea a doua a zilei, plină de inspirație.
